小王子想道：“这颗行星真奇特！它上面满是干巴巴的、尖尖的，险要并且令人生畏，人们一点设想力都没有。他们只是反复别人对他们说的话……在我的故乡，我有一朵花。她老是本身先说话……”

"I am all alone― all alone― all alone," answered the echo.

"Who are you" said the little prince.

"Good morning― ood morning― Good morning," answered the echo.

以后，小王子爬上一座高山。畴昔他所见过的山就是那三座只要他膝盖那么高的火山，并且他把那座燃烧了的火山当作垫脚的凳子。小王子想：“站在这么高的山上，我一眼能够看到全部星球，以及统统的人。”但是他甚么都没有看到，只是一些像针一样锋利的峭壁岩石。

“我很孤傲……我很孤傲……我很孤傲……”覆信又答复着。

“请你们做我的朋友吧，我很孤傲。”他说。

"What a queer planet!" he thought. "It is altogether dry, and altogether pointed, and altogether harsh and forbidding. And the people have no imagination. They repeat whatever one says to them... On my planet I had a flower; she always was the first to speak..."
